Charlestown-Nevis-Shots rang out in the area of the Charlestown Bay front on Friday night-4th. March.
Persons liming in the area of the Octagon restaurant, located on the Samuel Hunkin’s Drive, scattered in different directions.
Among those clearing the area, was young Darnell Morton of Fothergills Estate in Gingerland, who was having an evening lime with his girlfriend.
Reports indicate that at least one person was chasing another and firing shots.
Young Morton and his girlfriend then quickly ran to his car, which was parked nearby and as he was about to move off, a shot rang out and he felt a sharp pain in his hand.
He continued driving to the Alexandra hospital where it was confirmed that he was shot in the right elbow.
The bullet had penetrated the glass on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
He is currently warded and is in stable condition with an apparent broken bone in his right hand.
Darnell Morton is the son of Walter and Dianne Morton of Fothergills Estate.
The Police are investigating the matter.
