Allrounder Kevin Sinclair continued his excellent showing with bat and ball as West Indies “A” took full control of the final four-day first-class match against Bangladesh “A” on Wednesday.
The tall right-hander made 60 – the fifth half-century of the innings – to help propel West Indies “A” to a strong first innings total of 445 all out. He then returned with 2-51 and along with fast bowler Anderson Phillip (2-26), they had the hosts reeling at 157-7 at the close of the second day.
Resuming on their overnight 320-6, Sinclair batted with great assurance as he struck seven fours and a six off 122 balls. He started the day on 22 and lost Raymon Reifer who made 56, caught at the wicket off left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam (2-80), but then frustrated Bangladesh “A” by inspiring an 87-run with Akeem Jordan, who made 47.
Jordan lashed five fours and a six in a breezy 63-ball inning before he was eighth out, clipping a simple catch to short mid-wicket off off-spinner Mahmudul Hasan.
When the home team batted, captain Saif Hassan top-scored with 32, opener Zakir Hassan got 29 and wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan chipped in with 28.
The match continues on Thursday at 10 am local time (12 midnight Eastern Caribbean/11 pm Wednesday Jamaica).
