Combermere-Nevis-The Violet O.J. Nicholls Primary school (VOJN), hosted its annual Christmas concert, on Wednesday 13th December, at the school’s auditorium.
The uniquely styled concert, commenced with the accustomed preliminary items, such as, prayer by Pastor Cumberbatch; scripture reading and opening remarks by the chair person.
However, thereafter, the students of the school took center stage, as they rendered items on the flute; sang Christmas songs and recited poems.
There was also a dynamic display of drumming by some of the older boys, under the superb tutelage of BINGHI Parris of the Nevis Cultural Foundation.
After a brief intermission, the program took an unusual but much appreciated twist. The members of the fair sized crowd in attendance, were able to participate in a ‘karaoke’ exercise and many brave souls literally ‘carried their own key,’ much to the appreciation and amusement of the crowd.
