The VOJN Primary school held its annual Cross country event on Thursday 9th February.
Coach Skidder informed that the children were utilizing a new route for the first time, which effectively took them off the main road, for the first time in the history of the event.
Instead of starting next to the Vance Amory Int. Airport, as was the custom, this time around, the older athletes commenced at the school and ran through one of the housing Projects and entered another, before making their way back to the school.
The younger children simply left the school and circled the first housing project, before making their way back to the school.
It was a very competitive event, except for one unfortunate incident, when one of the athletes in the infant girls event, took off on the wrong route and has effectively caused the race to be re-run.
It is understood that that re-run will take place on Friday 10th February.
