US Ambassador Linda Tagliatatela’s Visit to Nevis Promotes Culture and Diplomatic Cooperation

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Nevis Historical and Conservation Society – NHCS extended heartfelt gratitude towards the United States Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and OECS – Linda Tagliatatela, for visiting, along with her delegation.

It expressed, “This week we were honoured to receive a visit from a distinguished US delegation, led by Her Excellency Linda Taglialatela, United States Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the OECS.”

According to the update by the Society, she was accompanied by Katherine Beamer, U.S. Department of State Director of Caribbean Affairs, and other members of the US Embassy Bridgetown: Country Officer Cierra Saylor and Political, Economic and Commercial Chief Breanna Green.

The reports have suggested that the Society President, Richard Samuel Lupinacci, and Society Director, Dr. Kamara Louisy, led the delegation on a tour of the recent conservation and restoration works at the Bath Hotel, part of our Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) project in collaboration with the Nevis Island Administration – NIA.

Moreover, at the end of the tour, the delegation also received a guided tour of the Museum of Nevis History and the Alexander Hamilton Museum in Charlestown by our Gallery Supervisor, Eliesel Ramirez Dorsett.

This visit was scheduled amid the official tour of the US Ambassador to the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. It is to be noted that Ambassador Tagliatatela also paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister of the twin-island nation, Dr Terrance Drew.

According to the sources, during the meeting with the PM, US Ambassador and her delegation discussed various ways to enhance and grow the diplomatic relations between both nations. The Ambassador assured continuous and strong support to the Caribbean nation in the upcoming future development projects.

“Our discussions were geared towards the strengthening of ties and cooperation on security and renewable energy matters,” PM Dr Terrance Drew tweeted.
