The death toll from this morning’s boating tragedy off St Kitts has increased to three.
Details on the deceased have not been revealed but they are believed to be West African migrants, who recently arrived in Antigua and Barbuda.
The deceased were among 32 people who sailed from Urlings, Antigua en route to the US Virgin Islands.
The vessel named Jenna B capsized and sank about twelve nautical miles south of Conaree, St Kitts shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Sixteen of the 32 passengers were rescued.
The coast guard of St Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda are searching for the missing persons.

A multi-nation search and rescue operation is underway for 15 people who are currently missing at sea in waters between St Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda.
According to reports, a vessel named Jenna B was sailing from Antigua to the US Virgin Islands with 32 passengers on board when it capsized and sank about twelve nautical miles south of Conaree, St Kitts shortly after midnight.
Sixteen persons were recovered from the water, including one person who was deceased.
The nationalities of the missing and rescued people are unknown.
