Another traffic accident occurred earlier today in Zion Village.
A truck driven by Guyanese resident, Alvin Douglas of the company known as Superior Backhoe and Trucking Services, catapulted into the ghaut at the base of Zion Hill, in close proximity of the former New River School.
The accident is said to have occurred sometime after 11am and unofficial reports indicate that the driver may have been initially pinned under the vehicle but received assistance in being removed before the ambulance arrived.
The driver is currently warded at the Alexandra Hospital, but there are no reports as to the extent of the injuries he sustained.
Police are investigating the incident and are once again reminding drivers, to drive with due care and attention when driving on the road.
