Gingerland, Nevis -The annual Trikhalia’s summer camp is on the way and the over thirty participants, are having a whale of a time. The camp is the brainchild of Miss Tricia Williams of Brown Hill and she is ably assisted by her very supportive family members.
Even though she is currently grieving the loss of her aunt, Lornette, the camp was not cancelled, as the parents of the children had already registered.
According to Miss Williams, the children will be taught various virtues but will have many days of fun as well. On Wednesday 21st August, they engaged in baking and were able to learn the art of making cakes, tarts and bread.
On Thursday 22nd August, they learnt the art of TIE –DYE, under the expert guidance of Miss Tasha Parris and her sister, Mavis Parris, who recently returned from a course of study of the ancient art, in Indonesia.
Mavis is grateful for the scholarship offer that she received and noted that she was happy to pass on her skills to the children.
Today, Friday 23rd Augusta, the children will engage in water games and other fun activities.
The camp will climax next week and included in the lineup, is a day trip to St. Kitts; another baking day and an official closing ceremony, slated for Friday 30th August.
