Traffic Department Conducts Vehicular Checkpoint Operations, Issues 47 Tickets

Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) remains dedicated to promoting road safety and enforcing traffic laws through strategic operations.

On the evening of February 21, 2025, officers from the Traffic Department, led by Superintendent Bradshaw, Inspector Gordon, and Sergeant Henry, conducted several vehicular checkpoints (VCPs) at locations including Johnson Long Path and The Island Main Road at Needsmust.

During this operation, which took place between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., a total of 47 traffic tickets were issued for various offences, including:

– 31 for exceeding the speed limit
– 11 for driving at night with only one functioning headlamp
– 2 for driving with unauthorized lights
– 1 for driving without a valid and unexpired driver’s license
– 1 for identification marks not conforming to regulations
– 1 for failing to produce a driver’s license immediately

The RSCNPF is committed to enforcing traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users. Motorists are urged to adhere to speed limits, maintain properly functioning vehicle lights, and carry their driver’s licenses at all times.
