Traffic Department Conducts Vehicle Check Point Operation.

On August 16, 2024, between 5:00 and 7:00 pm, officers from the Traffic Department conducted a Vehicular Checkpoint (VCP) operation on the Island Main Road near Canada Estate.

The operation resulted in the issuance of 28 traffic tickets for various offences, including:

– 14 tickets for driving with dark-tinted windows.

– 6 tickets for driving with a dark-tinted windscreen.

– 4 tickets for identification marks (registration plate) not conforming to regulations.

– 2 tickets for driving without a seatbelt.

– 1 ticket for failure to produce a license immediately.

– 1 ticket for driving with unauthorized lights.

Drivers with illegal tints were required to remove the tint from their vehicles.

Head of the Traffic Department, Insp. Delroy Harris admonishes all motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, particularly concerning vehicle modifications such as window tints, to ensure road safety and compliance with the law.
