On August 9, 2024, several defendants appeared at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by his honour, Mr. Reynold Benjamin, to answer to charges brought against them. The following persons were convicted and fined as follows:
1. Colin Dominik of Camps was convicted and cautioned for driving without a valid license. However, he was fined $1,000 for driving without insurance and $750 for driving without due care and attention. He will serve 2 months in prison if the fines are not paid.
2. Pardeep Kaur of Frigate Bay was convicted and fined $500 for driving without a valid license, $1,000 for driving without insurance, and $500 for driving an unlicensed vehicle. If the fines are not paid, he will serve 2 months in prison
Additionally, 22 traffic ticket cases were withdrawn after proof of payment was shown.
These court proceedings highlight the ongoing efforts of the Royal St. Christopher-Nevis Police Force to enforce traffic regulations and ensure road safety.
