THREE RECORDS BROKEN AT VOJN CROSS COUNTRY EVENT

The VOJN Primary school, held its annual cross country event on Friday 17th February.

All four races, representing junior boys and girls and seniors boys and girls, were run in quick succession, starting at about 9.30 am.

The juniors started at the school’s gate and ran through the nearby housing project area and then back to the school.

On the other hand, the seniors also raced through the housing project area but went all the way down to the main road, pass the Newcastle Police station, pass the Newcastle Pottery and then back to the school.

Malia Batoon set a new record for the junior girls; T’zharvier Pemberton, created another in the junior boys; Tyra Phillip set yet another for the senior girls and in what was arguably the most competitive race of the day, Adian Phillip just failed to beat the current record, after beating Keandre Lewis in a thrilling race.
