(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)-At the Charlestown High Court on Thursday, April 3, 2014 when both judge and jury thought they would have a case to listen to, there was a sudden twist in the matter involving Ozandy Collins.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2014 nineteen year old Ozandy Collins stood in the prisoner’s dock and pleaded ‘not guilty’ to two counts of unlawful carnal knowledge. At that time he was being represented by Attorney Ricaldo Caines.
Collins was accused of having sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16. At the time of the incident the underage teen was three (3) months shy of fourteen (14) years. The incident is said to have occurred on April 3 and April 5, 2013 at Ramsbury Site. At the time Collins was eighteen (18) years old.
On Thursday Collins appeared in court with a new attorney, Attorney Denzil Hinds. Nevispages understands that Lawyer, Ricaldo Caines withdrew himself from the matter.
Attorney Hinds asked for the charge to be read to his client again. At this time the youngster changed his ‘not guilty’ plea to ‘guilty’.
Her Lordship Justice Lorriane Williams ordered a social inquiry report on Collins before his sentencing which is set for Monday, April 14, 2014.
The criminal assizes were scheduled to re-commence today Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Nevis High Court with the matter involving Alistair Isaac. His case is the final matter to be heard for this criminal assizes.
