Tahj and Rashelle Star in CSS Cross Country
(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- According to President of the Nevis Amateur Athletic Association, Lester Blackett, Tahj Liburd made one fundamental error on his way to a comprehensive win in the senior boys’ category of the annual Charlestown Secondary School Cross country event: He ran all the way and refused to drink water en route.
Approaching the incline at Government Road, the young athlete seemed to be losing focus, but with the encouragement of the cheering supporters, he managed to make it across the finish line, well ahead of the remainder of the pack.
Rashelle Joseph on the other hand, was more cool and composed as she crossed the finish line ahead of her compatriots in the senior girls’ race.
For the junior boys, Andrew Cozier secured first spot and for the junior girls, it was Tinesha Perkins, taking gold.
