On Friday 26th August, a brief but significant ceremony was held at Oualie Beach.
Approximately five individuals received certificates for successfully completing a course in Reef survey and preservation.
The course was coordinated by the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center, in collaboration with CARE SKN.
Several of the participants and students, took time out to give an overview of the intense course and all attested to the significance of being able to survey reefs and being able to identify specific conditions and make a relevant analysis of the data collected.
This will ensure that changes in the reef over time, will be closely monitored, so that management decisions will be properly informed.
