Sunday 20th February was a very important day for the level two swimming coaches on Nevis.
On that day at the Oualie Beach, professional swim coach Anne Mclindon, took them through the paces of coaching swimmers in a competitive environment.
The pool created at Oualie Beach, by the president of the federation’s swimming association, Winston Crooke, was the area of focus.
Ms. Mclindon explained that there will be a swim race in the month of April and the pool will be utilized for the event.
She was therefore training the coaches so that they, in turn, can prepare the competing swimmers in the correct racing techniques within the pool.
Some of the techniques worked on, involved the correct way to enter the water; getting out of the starting blocks and correct swim strokes and breathing techniques.
