Saturday 16th April will see an exciting and innovative event, to be held at Oualie Beach.
The SKN Moves Nevis Chapter will be hosting its second major event for the year, in collaboration with the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center
The event is dubbed an AQUAFUNATHOLON and is geared to children ages 8 to 12 who already know how to swim.
According to Sheilagh James of the SKN Moves Nevis Chapter, some seven teams are registered for the event, which will feature races in swimming, kayaking and athletics.
The event is set to commence at 9 am sharp.
James Weeks, a well-known local athlete, is responsible for the training of the athletes and he has indicated that rigorous training exercises will be done on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
Danielle Connor of the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center, was quick to point out that it will be a GREEN event, as her organization teaches the children to be responsible for the care of their environment and so there is no use of single plastics and Styrofoam.
The children also reuse cups and bottles and use biodegradable material.
Sheilagh James also took time out to thank those persons and establishments who have assisted in making the event a reality:
1st prize-in care of Jasmine Browne
2nd prize-in care of SEAL MY SIP and GAME ROOM
3rd prize –in care of Islander and Nevis bikes
