The St Lucia Kings start their 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Sunday at Warner Park, St Kitts.

The Kings made it to the 2020 and 2021 CPL finals but were beaten both times.

The Patriots, who beat the Kings in the 2021 final, won their first game of the 2024 tournament against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons before losing to the Knight Riders on Saturday night.

The Kings are led by South African Faf du Plessis, with former West Indies captain Darren Sammy as head coach.

The Kings include West Indies regulars Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, and Alzarri Joseph.

They have improved their ranks with overseas signings du Plessis, Noor Ahmad, Aaron Jones, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Tim Siefert, and David Wiese.

South African Heinrich Klaasen withdrew from the tournament last week due to a family emergency.

For the Patriots, Kyle Mayers has shown form with 39 against the Falcons, while Mikyle Louis struck 56 against the Knight Riders.

Among their bowlers, Ashmead Nedd had 1 for 21 against the Falcons, with Nortje taking 2 for 37 against the Knight Riders.

The match begins at 7 pm at Warner Park, St Kitts.
