St Kitts Traffic Offences

St Kitts Court Session presided over by Her Honor Mrs Sherry-Anne Liburd-Charles:

At a sitting of the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 10, 2024.

Several individuals were convicted for various traffic offences and fined as follows:

1. Rosaley Berkley of Sandy Point was convicted of driving without due care and attention, an offence committed on September 8, 2023. She was fined $1,500, to be paid within one month or face 14 days of imprisonment.

2. Jason Jarvis of Verchilds faced two separate convictions. He was fined $1,000 for exceeding the speed limit, payable by October 31, 2024, or face 14 days of imprisonment. Additionally, for reckless driving committed on March 1, 2024, Jarvis was fined $2,500, payable by November 29, 2024, or face 30 days of imprisonment.

Fourteen (14) ticket cases were withdrawn due to payments made before the court session. Thirteen other cases were adjourned to various dates.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continue to remind the public of the importance of road safety. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and remain attentive at all times. By following traffic laws, we can collectively ensure safer roads for everyone and reduce the risk of accidents and legal consequences.
