December 14th 2015 — 19-year-old Kittitian, Trevis Belle has been selected as 1 of 30 Global Teens Leaders for the Three Dot Dash Program. After hearing he was selected, Trevis has made history by being the FIRST Caribbean national to ever be a Global Teen Leader since its introduction in 2008.
Trevis has been selected due to his impactful work that he has done with his Non-Profit Organization (M.A.D.E – Making A Difference Everywhere), a group that focuses on improving the lives of persons within St. Kitts. He will travel to New York City from March 5th – March 11 2016 to be apart of the programme.
The Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leader Programme is one that focuses on developing young leaders, and assisting them in working on raising more awareness about the issues that the groups focuses on. The GTL’s will be paired with a skilled mentor who will assist them for over a year in building ways to spread their message through different mediums (social media, television, word of mouth, etc.)
The group MADE has been around since January 5th 2014 & has already created major buzz as they hosted a Youth Rally in November in celebration of Youth Month.
Mr. Belle had a few words to say after hearing he has been selected as Global Teen Leader for 2016: “This is a big honor not only for myself but for my group MADE. I literally didn’t see it reaching this. This is also the perfect platform for me to get the message across and continue raising awareness! Also, to be the FIRST Caribbean national to be selected is an even bigger honor. I will continue to be the Ambassador that I am for the federation. I will continue working hard and never give up.”
