The St. Kitts and Nevis U14 male team are getting ready to participating the CFU U-14 Caribbean Challenge Series that will be hosted at the Warner Park Football Stadium starting this weekend from August 4th to the 12th. Coach of the St. Kitts and Nevis under 14 team, Delvin Harris said preparations have been going well ahead of the tournament. “The guys are here working hard and are excited about the experience,” Coach Harris said.
The coach spoke about what he will be look at specifically as it pertains to the development of his players in this tournament. “I am looking to see how they have developed and how we can help them to develop. I know a lot of times at this stage everybody is looking for wins. For us as coaches, we try to improve them. This is more like a development stage for us,” he said. “We have a bit of talent here. The guys are very talented and we really want to enhance their skills as we go forward,” he added.
Meanwhile, Team Manager Sean Simon said this tournament is important to the players as it has developed them not only from the standpoint of the game but socially as well. “Interestingly enough when these guys came together they were complete strangers. Now they just jive very nicely. I am glad that the SKNFA is starting at this level and moving upwards. It’s really, really exceptional what we are seeing at play here,” Simon said.
