St.John’s Cops Under 20 Championship
The St. John’s under 20 Parish Basketball team, is the 2017 champion for the under 20 parish league, hosted by the Nevis Amateur Basketball Association (NABA).
The two teams competing in the best of three finals, were the St. Paul’s team and the St. John’s team and both teams were tied one game-all, in the best of three final series.
The third and final game was played on the evening of Tuesday 18th April, at the Brown Hill hard court.
The game was keenly contested and the scores were very close throughout, except for the third quarter, when the St. Paul’s team apparently went to sleep and only scored 7 points to St. John’s 17.
However, up to the final quarter they were within shooting range of equalizing but in the final three minutes of the game, some crucial blunders on their part, were decisive to the eventual outcome, as the St. John’s players capitalized, to sink a few crucial two pointers.
Final score: St. John’s Parish 45 St. Paul’s Parish 39
