The President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Triathlon Federation, Jane Hansom, reported that three swimmers from St. Kitts and Nevis participated in the CARIFTA regional triathlon games. The swimmers, Skyla Connor, Aunri Pemberton, and Greyson Burrell, performed well and gained valuable experience.
The SKN delegation also included Coach James Weeks and a few parents. Skyla and Aunri participated in the aquathon, a combination of swimming and running, while Greyson took part in both the aquathon and the triathlon, involving swimming, cycling, and running.
Hansom said that all of the participants did well despite facing tough competition, especially as it was their first experience. They enjoyed the event and her next goal is to secure equipment such as bikes for them and others, which will be funded regionally.
She hopes that the triathlon will regain its popularity as a beloved sport in the federation.
