The Hon. Shawn K. Richards and the Executive and members of the People’s Action Movement will be celebrating the upcoming birthday of the Country’s first Prime Minister and former Party Leader Rt. Hon. Dr Sir Kennedy A Simmonds.
The Celebration will take the form of a Gala Dinner and Dance on Saturday April 12th and is expected to draw hundreds of supporters and well wishers. The Gala Affair takes place at the historic Garvey’s Estate in Boyds. The refurbished and renovated Great House is expected to host hundreds in what is expected to be a large and memorable affair.

The Father of Independence of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and our first Prime Minister Dr. Rt. Hon Sir Kennedy Alphonse Simmonds is was a visionary leader and is an exemplary statesman and is widely regarded as the Father of the Nation state of St. Kitts and Nevis, having led the twin-islands from the shackles of statehood under the U.K. to attaining Independence on 19th September, 1983 and becoming the smallest free nation in the Western Hemisphere.
Under his unparalleled leadership as Premier and then Prime Minister in the PAM/NRP Coalition Government, St. Kitts and Nevis made innumerable social and economic strides and was the front-runner, not only in the Eastern Caribbean, but in some respects the entire Latin America/Caribbean region at large.
His sterling contributions to our national development are beyond measure and beyond dispute.
This Birthday Gala and Celebration is expected to highlight many of his significant and pioneering achievements as a Caribbean Student Scholar, Medical Practioner and pioneering Nation Leader.
The Event will include musical entertainment by a number of top local bands, performers and special guests.
