The world was the oyster of Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce in 2022, completing a stellar season that saw her win her fifth World 100 metres title at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene in a championship record run of 10.67 seconds.
She now holds more World Championships 100m titles than any athlete, male or female in history.
That 10.67 time would also be among the seven sub 10.70 times that she would clock this season en route to capturing her fifth Diamond League 100m title.
The 36-year-old Pryce captured silver in the 200m, as well as the 4x100m relay at the Games.
She would finish the year ranked number one in the 100m and third in the 200m. Her time of 10.62 which she clocked last August in Monaco was the fastest time in the world last year.
For her accomplishments, she was named a finalist for the 2022 World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year Award
