Charlestown-Nevis-Sunday 10th December, was a very special day in the lives of the residents at the Flambuoyant Senior Citizens home, located on the grounds of the Alexandra Hospital.

On that day, the Community Services departments of the Seventh Day Adventist churches on Nevis, united to bring Christmas cheer to the residents of the home.

The session commenced with a lively song service, which involved the singing of well-known Christmas carols. The residents enthusiastically joined in with the singing of the well-loved songs.

The ceremony was chaired by Brother Tony Brazier who also delivered the invocation.

The scripture reading was read by Sister Lanissa Burke and the sermonette of the day was delivered by Pastor Stanton Adams, who is the senior Pastor on the island.

He spoke of God’s care and love for human beings, including the aged and infirmed and admonished the residents of the home to continue to trust in God.

He spoke of God as a God of ‘love’.

Pastor Delroy Josiah then officially handed over the gift packages of toiletries; pampers; lotions; bed sheets and the like, to one of the employees at the home, who gratefully accepted on behalf of the management and staff and indicated that the gifts will go a long way in ministering to the needs of the seniors.

The community service personnel were not done.

At the end of the presentation of the items, they delivered a sumptuous lunch to the residents which they had prepared and not only helped to feed them, but assisted in their general grooming as well.
