More accolades will be poured posthumously on the late outstanding Nevisian female cricketer, Ruby Chapman. Chapman passed away earlier this year after a prolonged battle with cancer.
However, a newly formed sports club from Cotton Ground, known as BUILDING BRIDGES SOCIAL AND SPORTS CLUB, is endeavouring to ensure that her name remains permanently etched in the sporting history of Nevis.
The club is proposing to commence a female cricket league in September and the winning team will qualify for the RUBY CHAPMAN cup.
The proposal is for the league to commence on the 26th September at the ET Willet Park.
It will be the tape ball version of the game and will be ten overs per side.
According to President of the club, Miss Tricia Williams, each team can present as many as 16 players and the registration fee is $120.00 per team.
The registration deadline is Saturday 12th September.
Outstanding teams and individuals can win attractive prizes. These include:
$1200 for First placed team; $800 for second, $500 for third place
Special prizes for Best Batswoman, Best Bowler, Woman of the Match and MVP of the Tournament
