ROSS POWELL SLAMS UNBEATEN HALF CENTURY
Ross Powell looked in superlative touch as he showcased his trade mark straight drive with elegance and cut and pulled his way to a well played half century on Monday.
This as the Nevis under 19 cricketers had another practice match, under the supervision of national coach, Stuart Williams.
The match was played at the ET Willet Park and this time around it was a T-20 encounter. Williams indicated that he is trying to get the players accustomed to playing various formats of the game.
Team one captained by Dymon Parris batted first and scored 120 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. Delroy Cornelius confidently stroked his way to 36 not out and Saeed Williams looked good for 22 before he gifted his wicket to left arm spinner Theron Bussue.
Bussue bagged 2 wickets for 14 runs and Kezron Archibald picked up 1 for 15.
Team 2, led by the Ross Powell knock, chalked up a close 123 for 5 when their 20 overs ran out —losing by just 2 runs. Ross Powell with his 56 not out was the stand out batsman.
Young Balgobin scalped 2 for 11 and Philo Wallace 1 for 21 to lead the charge for their team.
