Jessups, Nevis-Mrs. Rosalie ROSE Martin celebrated her 96th birthday on Friday 1st June at her home in a quiet ceremony surrounded by some of her children; representatives from the Ministry of Social Development and friends.
Opening congratulatory remarks were delivered by Coordinator of the Seniors’ division, Miss Trudy Prentice and other preliminary items included a prayer by her eldest son, Rev. Edmund Martin and a scripture reading by one of her daughters, Agnola Martin.
There was a period during the celebrations when the children reminisced on the values taught to them by their mom and the strictness displayed in their upbringing, along with her general nature of assisting persons within the community.
On hand to make a very important presentation of a fruit basket, was the Minister of Social Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn who wished the celebrant many more years of long life and good health and praised the family members for her care and wellbeing.
Other items included the singing of choruses and the birthday song.
