Report Of Arrests, Convictions And Other Activities

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 20, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period April 17-19, 2018.

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Shevan Liburd of Fern Street, Greenland was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on two (2) counts of Malicious Damage.

Arrested: Jack Crawford of Conaree was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May14, 2018. 

Arrested: Lisa Francis of Conaree Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis. She was also charged for the offence of Doing an Act Tending and Intended to Pervert the Course of Justice, Contrary to Common Law which was committed on the July 28, 2017 in Basseterre.

Arrested: Ticardo Francis of Conaree was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May 14, 2018.

Arrested: Dexter Williams of Dieppe Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Battery and Trespassing.

Arrested/Bailed:  Destonaye Williams alias ‘Josh’ of Lower Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 01, 2018. 

Arrested/Bailed: Nichole Thom of Central Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences: Resisting Arrest, Battery on Police, Obstruction, Indecent Language, Refusing to Give Name, and Giving a False Name. She was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May 04, 2018. 

Bailed: Tyrese Eddy of Buckley’s Site, Basseterre, who was charged for the offence of House Break-in With Intent to Commit a Felony, which was committed on April 06, 2018, was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 04, 2018. His bail conditions are that he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Monday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and should observe a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. at his father’s residence. 

COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court, presided over by her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke, the following were reported:

– Tasha Thompson of Farms Estate was convicted and fined $500 to be paid in three (3) months or, if in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Malicious Damage.

– Reno Parris of Cherry Gardens Housing Project was convicted and fined $1,500 to be paid in three (3) months or, if in default, serve six (6) months imprisonment for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.

– Jamar Woodstock of Prospect was convicted and fined $1,500 to be paid in three (3) months or, if in default, serve three (3) months imprisonment for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.

– Bernett Thompson of Brown Hill was convicted and fined $1,500 to be paid in three (3) months or, if in default, serve three (3) months imprisonment for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. If the fine is paid on time, no conviction will be recorded.

– Moval Mills of Bath Village was convicted and fined $2,500 to be paid in six (6) months or, if in default, serve three (3) months imprisonment for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. 

– Stayon Beaton of Cane Gardens was convicted and fined $1,000 to be paid in two (2) months or, if in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Driving Without Insurance and was fined $1,000 to be paid in one (1) month or, if in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Drivers License. He is also disqualified from obtaining a Driver’s License for twelve (12) months.

In matters at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Ms. Donna Harris, the following was reported:

– Kevin Rouse of Fortlands, who was charged for Possession of Cannabis, was fined $1,036 to be paid by June 17, 2018 or, if in default, serve one (1) month in prison with hard labour. The offence of Possession With Intent to Supply was withdrawn.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches on properties.  Most recently they were done in the areas of Trafalgar Village, Sandy Point, Gingerland, Conaree and Ottleys Village.

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Stapleton Village, Lower Monkey Hill, Taylor’s, Stapleton Village and Conaree Village.
