Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 13, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period March 06-07, 2018.
ARRESTS AND BAIL:
Arrested: Yellson Lee of Taylors Housing Development was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Indecent Language, Resisting Arrest, Refusing to his Give Name, Obstruction and Battery on Police.
Arrested: Glenroy Stevens of Shanti Town, Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident which was committed on February 20, 2018.
Arrested: Steve Daniel of Cayon Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and for Taking a Vehicle Without the Consent of the Owner, Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License
Arrested: Jamar Woodstock of Prospect Estate was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.
Arrested/Bailed: Alphonso Oscar Toppin of Half Moon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Under the Influence and Driving Without Due Care and Attention. He was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on March 08, 2018 with the condition that he is to surrender his travel documents.
Bailed: Elroy Richards of Ponds Extension, who was charged for the offence of Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm, was bailed in the sum of $15,000 with the conditions that he is to answer to his bail on May 14, 2018 and any other date that the case is set and he is to also have no contact with the Virtual Complainant.
Bailed: Charles Liburd of Upper Market Street, who was charged for the offence of Simple Wounding, was bailed in the sum of $1,000.
Bailed: Theodore Williams of Fort Thomas Road, who was charged for the offence of Breaking and Entering, committed on February 24, 2018, was bailed in the sum of $3,000. The conditions are that he is to seek employment on the STEP Program and he is set to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May 14, 2018.
Bailed: Vincent Douglas of Middle Island, who was arrested for Battery on Police and Resisting Arrest, was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on March 09, 2018.
Bailed: Valentine Parris, who arrested and charged for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, was granted bail in the sum of $59,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre High Court during the May Criminal Assizes.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In Matters at the District“B”Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hector, the following were convicted:
– Cordell Lake of Market Street who was charged for Driving Without Insurance was convicted and fined $300 to be paid by March 31, 2018 or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison.
In Matters at the District “C” Magistrate Court, presided over by her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke, the following were reported:
– Jeanette Browne of Craddock Road was convicted and fined $10,000 to be paid in (one) 1 month or, in default, serve two (2) years imprisonment for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Ponds Extension, Keys and Thibou Avenue.
Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers of District ‘B’ reported that they uprooted about 1,500 Marijuana plants which ranged from 1ft to 2ft in height in the Godwin Ghaut area.
