REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 6, 2016, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 29 to September 4.
ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Chavorn Scott of Stapleton Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Wounding with Intent. Offence committed on the 26th August 2016.
Arrested: Melvin Richardson of Lavington Housing Project was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm committed on August 28th 2016.
Arrested: Justin Isles of Barnes Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
Arrested/Bailed: Leon Francis and Jermaine Jules of St. Pauls were arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Assault With Intent To Rob. Bailed: Leon Francis and Jermaine Jules both of St. Pauls Village who was charged for the offence of Assault With Intent To Rob were granted bail in the sum of $10,000 in the sum to appear in court to answer bail on the 8th of September, 2016. Conditions that the defendants are not to interfere with the virtual complainant and to surrender their travel document to the court. Jermaine Jules of St. Pauls were also arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Unlawful Possession.
Arrested/Bailed: Leahcim Phipps of Park Range was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of Cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. Bailed: Leahcim Phipps of East Park Range who was arrested for Possession of Cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 10th October 2016.
Arrested/Bailed: Romeo Browne of Upper Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences: Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply. Bailed: Romeo Browne of Upper Cayon who was charged with Poss of Cannabis and Poss with intent to supplywas granted bail in the sum of $7000,00 E.C.C for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 20th September 2016.
Arrested/Bailed : Akeem Archibald and a (juvenile) of Shadwell Estate were both arrested, formally charged and cautioned for disorderly conduct by fighting which occurred 03rd September at Shadwell Estate.Bailed: Akeem Archibald and a (juvenile) of Shadwell Estate were granted bail in the sum of $3,000.00 for their appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 3th October 2016 at 09:00hrs in the forenoon.
Bailed: Prince Yahwell Henry of Stapleton Village who was arrested and charged for the offence Manslaughter was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.00 E.E.C for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the 3rd October, 2016 9o’clock in the forenoon. Conditions are that he should 1.Report daily to the St.Peter’s Police Station, 2. To surrender travel documents to the Court forthwith, 3. To observe a curfew during the hours of 8pm to 6am and 4. To refrain from using marijuana and any other controlled drugs.
Bailed: Chavern Scott of Stapleton Village who was charged with the offence Wounding With Intent was also granted bail in the sum of $25,000.00for his to appearance in court to answer bail on the 5th of September, 2016. Under the condition that the defendant report to the Stapleton Police Station every Friday between the hours of 7 am to 17:00 hrs.
Bailed: Adrian Rawlins who was charged with Larceny was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 E.C.C for his appearance at The Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday, 03rd October.
Bailed: Melvin Richardson an adult of Saddlers Village who was charged with Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 E.C.C for his appearance at The Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday, 03rd October.
Bailed: Terrance Somersoll of Sandy Point who was charged for Causing Death by Careless Driving was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 E.C.C. for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday, 03rd October.
Bailed: Laurette Joseph of Shadwell Housing who was arrested for disorderly conduct by fighting in the sum of $3,000.00 her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 3th October 2016 at 09:00hrs in the forenoon.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
None to report.
OTHER ACTIVITY:
Building Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of Building Breaking and Larceny at a carpenter shop in the Woodwork Room at the Basseterre High School compound. Initial investigations reveal that the building was secured on 28th2016, at about 18:00hrs and upon return discovered the building broken into and a variety of tools missing. Further inquiries to be conducted.
House Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a breaking and larceny that occurred on 30th August 2016. Initial investigations revealed that the VC secured the home at about 11:30am and left. The VC stated that upon return at about 11:50am it was discovered the house was broken into and a variety of food stuff and three (03) 1500 watts transformers were missing. The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit.
Larceny from Unattended Vehicle and Malicious Damage: Police is investigating three (03) incidents of larceny from unattended vehicle and an incident of Malicious Damage to a vehicle which occurred in New Road Housing, Carifta Village and Osbourne Street. In each incident the assailant made entry by breaking the window.
Search Warrant Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants in the area of Old Road, New Road and Conaree in the past days.
Traffic Accidents: There was One (1) traffic accident on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during the period 29th August 2016. There were four (4) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on 30thAugust 2016. There were six (6) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on 31st August 2016. One (1) traffic accident on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on September 3rd 2016. There were three (3) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on September 4th 2016.
Community Engagement: Police from the New Castle Police Station continue its community engagement activities. Village Shop visits and community walk through continues.
Knock and Greet: Officers of the New Castle Police Station continue their “Knock and Greet” in the communities they serve. Knock and Greet was conducted in the Shaw’s Road Housing Project. Officers engaged the residents of the area and they were pleased with uniformed police presence in the area.
Citizen Safety: Police continues to conduct Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties, beaches, coves and other coastal areas. The check points and searches are done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes. A number of search warrants were executed over the period of this report.
