Charlestown, Nevis, April 4, 2018 – A report Wednesday that a prisoner, who works as a cook at the Prison Farm in Nevis recently suffered severe burns while performing his duties.
A reliable source in Charlestown said the prisoner who was in excruciating pain was being rushed to the Alexandra Hospital in Charlestown, when the driver received instructions from a senior prison officer to return to the Prison Farm “immediately” with the injured prisoner.
According to another source, the vehicle with the injured prisoner was already on the hospital compound when the instructions to return were received.
The officer returned to the Prison Farm and the injured prisoner was later sent to the hospital for medical attention.
There was no information how the injuries were caused and why the instructions to return.
