Director of Sports, Jamir Claxton stated on Thursday that the much-anticipated game between the St. Kitts –Nevis Patriots and the Premier’s X1, will be a great one for the fans. He indicated that everything is going well in terms of preparations and noted that his department is responsible for making sure that the grounds and related facilities are in line with the required standards that are expected to be in place for international cricketers.
He said that groundsman Jabal has the grounds in great shape and is promising the usual top-class pitch, from which you will get results, once you put in the effort. The staff is also working feverishly in ensuring that the general facilities are to the required standards. He further clarified that the Premier’s X1 will not be a Nevis team, but instead will comprise of top players from both St. Kitts and Nevis.
He stated that he is not yet privy to the team but pointed out that a selector form Nevis and a selector from St. Kitts, would have gotten together, to finalize the squad. He is beseeching cricket fans to come out in their numbers to witness the game, which is slated for the ET Willet Park, for Thursday 29th August, starting promptly at 2 pm.
