Poyer appointed as general-secretary (acting)
KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – The Executive of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation have appointed Mr. Devron E Poyer as Acting General Secretary. The appointment takes effect from Monday February 05, 2018.
Mr. Poyer has always been associated with sports in the country, being involved with a number of village teams, and serving as the public relations officer for the Barrouallie Sports Association for about six years.
He has been serving as the Executive Administrator of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation since 2011, until his appointment as Acting General Secretary.
Mr. Poyer’s working relationship over the years with a number of general-secretaries and president, have proven to be valuable, as he managed the secretariat with utmost efficiency.
During his tenure as Executive Administrator, Mr. Poyer was instrumental for the re-introduction of Primary School Football, and was chairman of the National School Games Football Sub-Committee, from 2011 – 2017.
He attended the St. Martin’s Secondary School, and subsequently the Technical Division of the St. Vincent Grenadines Community College where he studied Business Administration.
Upon graduating he worked at GECCU as the Junior Marketing Officer for four years, then with the Tamarind Beach Hotel as Front Desk Agent and Night Auditor, before joining the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation in 2011.
Additionally Mr. Poyer’s spiritual upbringing and belief in the CREATOR GOD ALMIGHTY has enable him to weather many storms during his formative years, and years of employment.
