Kieran Powell is eager and ready to do well in the upcoming fixture in the Leeward Islands versus Barbados clash. The sixth round fixture in the ongoing WICB regional tournaments will take place at Warner Park in St.Kitts between Saturday 30th March and Tuesday 2nd April.
Powell in a recent interview noted that he did not do well in the recent test series versus Zimbabwe and therefore used a recent local game between his home club Empire and Brown Hill as a practice game. ‘I decided to bat through, he said. He was not out on 67 at the end as he helped his team to a convincing win.
He indicated that he is hoping to bat long against the Barbados team in the upcoming matches and intends to help his team to perform well.
The Leewards has performed well below par all season and are fresh from a defeat in their most recent game versus Jamaica. Barbados would start the game equally shakily as they too are fresh from a convincing defeat versus the Windward Islands when they were bowled out for a mere 64 runs in their first innings.
The 50 overs fixture between the two teams is scheduled for the same venue on Thursday 4th April.
