Post Office Wins Encounter in Convincing Fashion
It was the culminating event of another exciting month of activities, hosted by the Postal Services.
A grand 15 overs per side tape ball Cricket match, was held at the ET Willet Park on Saturday 9th November. The Postal Services team came up against a Mixed Civil Service team. The Combined Civil Service team batted first and all but batted the Postal Services team out of the game. Laborde and Roger Fyfield, batted superbly and 114 for 2 from 15 overs, looked like Nevis Peak.
However, Trishawn Francs, well supported by Gavin Wattley, Hon. Spencer Brand and Kenny Persaud, teamed up to take their team to the winning target for just 3 wickets.
Hon. Spencer Brand had a dream debut. As a matter of fact, he hit experienced Masters Leg spinner, Patrick Newton cleans out of the Park with the first ball he faced. He was unfortunately run out shortly thereafter.
Summarized scores:
Combined Civil Service 114 for 2 in 15 overs:
Laborde 35; Roger Fyfield 30; Chitram 23
Post Office 115 for 3 in 12.2 overs:
Trishawn Francis 46; Gavin Watley 18*; Hon. Spencer Brand 9 and Kenny Persaud 9*
