(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- This media house understands that sometime after 8:00 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, May 14, 2013, Kishmoy Challenger of Pond Hill, Nevis was attacked while doing his gardening duties at Cliff Dwellers, St. Thomas Parish, Nevis.
Information reaching this media house indicates that Challenger received multiple gun-shots to his body. It is alleged that the assailant seemed to have waited for Challenger to arrive at work to make his attack.
Further information reveals that the assailant used the private vehicle belonging to Challenger to make an escape.
Challenger is currently at the Alexandra Hospital in stable condition. His injuries are said to be not life threatening.
Challenger was among five youths who were convicted of the 2004 murder of Hamilton resident, Eric Weekes. Weekes was murdered in the vicinity of Superfoods. At the time Weekes was 16 years old.
Later, Challenger and three others who were also convicted of the crime were released from prison following an appeals court ruling. However, the judges rejected the motion of the fifth man who remains behind bars.
Police investigations into this recent shooting incident continue.
