The atmosphere was electrifying and there was a fair sized gathering at the Cotton Ground Playing field on Tuesday 26th March.
The action was the second division contest between the South Warriors team and the Police team. Among the crowd was a fair contingent of both male and female Police officers.
To the disappointment of many, female cricketer Nevilla Daniel was reduced to scoring duties, due to an injury.
However, the Police officers on the side lines were vociferous in their support. Every good delivery was applauded; every catch taken was cheered and every instance of misfielding or poor bowling was severely criticized. It was all in fun and added to the excitement of the afternoon.
South Warriors won the toss and batted first and amassed a challenging 156 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. The details are sketchy but Charles picked up 2 wickets with his medium pacers.
When the Police team batted, they managed to overhaul the total with a heart stuttering four balls to spare.
The Police officers were ecstatic. The Umpires in the game were Frank Monzac and Traffic chief on Nevis, Sgt. James Hazel.
