POLICE OFFICER UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR HIS ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN CONTRABAND FOUND IN HER MAJESTY’S PRISON

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 28, 2016 (RSCNPF): A Police Constable has been detained as a result of his alleged involvement in the introduction of contraband into Her Majesty’s Prison.  

 The incident occurred on Tuesday (September 27) sometime around 8:30pm. 

 A concurrent investigation into the incident is being conducted by The Criminal Investigations Department and Her Majesty’s Prison.  

 Commenting on the incident, Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley said, “As upholders of the law, we expect our officers to maintain the highest standards of integrity. We will not condone wrong doing and everyone is responsible for their actions and will be held accountable. Officers who engage in corrupt practices will face the consequences as prescribed by law.”
