Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 05, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Criminal Investigations Division(CID) is investigating a robbery of a person in the Wade’s Garden area around 12.00 pm, on Friday (December 4).
Investigations reveal a visitor was walking in the Wade’s Garden area and was accosted from the back by two (2) unarmed assailants. The victim said the assailants took from him his wallet with personal identifications, credit cards and US 53 dollars and a Samsung S4 cellular phone.
A passerby assisted the victim and took him to Joseph N. France General Hospital for observations, in light of his complaints about chest pains. The passerby also reported the incident to the Basseterre Police Station. According to the report, one of the assailants wore a dark shirt in black pants and white shoes, and the other in a white shirt and khaki pants.
The Special Services Unit, the Criminal Investigations Department and Beat and Patrol Officers responded to the scene. Officers also visited the victim at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.
Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Criminal Investigations Mr. Ian Queeley, said, “he thanks the passerby who assisted the visitor. Their actions clearly demonstrate that good persons will do the right thing.” The ACP further added, that “just like this good Samaritan did the right thing, and rendered assistance, I encourage persons in the area, who may have seen the incident to come forward, so we may bring the individuals responsible to justice.
