Pastor Hazel Harris Makes 90
Brown Hill-Nevis-Thursday 4th July was a very important day in the life of well-known retired female Pastor on Nevis, Pastor Hazel Harris.
On that day, she quietly celebrated her 90th birthday at her Brown Hill residence.
She was visited by a contingent from the Ministry of Social Development, led by Minister, Hon. Eric Evelyn.
A brief ceremony was held at her home, ably chaired by Seniors’ Division coordinator, Miss Trudy Prentice.
Prayer was said and a scripture passage was read and all joined in with the singing of the well-known hymn ‘Great is thy faithfulness.’
Hon. Evelyn, in presenting Pastor Harris with a plaque and fruit basket, complements of his Ministry and the City Drug store, opined that she looked far younger than 90 and praised her for her efforts in moulding not only the Brown Hill community, but the Nevisian community as whole.
Pastor Harris in her response, urged young persons under the sound of her voice to give their hearts to God at an early age and noted that they will never regret that decision.
She stated that she committed her life to God at an early age and has never looked back since and has absolutely no regrets.
She started her career as a Pastor in Curacao and completed her tenure, at the Brown Hill Wesleyan Church, in Nevis.
She thanked everyone for making her birthday really special.
