The Maude Smith Pre School held its annual Sports meet on Friday 17th February, incidentally the first official sports meet for the year.
The action was at the school’s grounds, under the distinguished patronage of past student and current teacher, Miss Nurisa Isles.
After the invocation, an impressive march past and the reading of the profile of the patron, the action got underway on the track
Some of the original races in which the children participated included three blind mice; fruit basket; Jack and Jill and spoon and block, along with more traditional races.
The parents and teachers also had their day in the sun, as they too entertained on the track.
Although Green house had much fewer athletes than Orange house, they were well represented by Jahniah, Somaro and Najey, who were the three top athletes in most of the races.
Among the persons present were Jean Caines, Verna Grant; Daddy Spic and announcers Jadee Caines and Benz Ottley, who served to keep the action lively throughout the day.
