The 2024 NISS Boy of Excellence, Mr. Reshon Weekes, was among the honorees recognized at a Cocktail Reception held on June 5th, 2024, at Government House. Her Honour, Mrs Hyleta Liburd, Deputy Governor General of Nevis, hosted this auspicious event to recognize the accomplishments of the 2024 cohort of Boys of Excellence, an initiative of the Department of Gender Affairs – Nevis.
Reshon Weekes is a Form 4 student at NISS. Despite the untimely loss of his mother, Reshon has remained resilient, displaying exemplary kindness and compassion towards other students.
Reshon’s academic performance has steadily improved throughout his tenure and has retained a spot on the school’s Merit Roll. Reshon excels at Mathematics, leading the winning Team for the school’s Math Bowl in 2023 and 2024.
Reshon is a committed environmentalist. He is passionate about sustainable agriculture, working alongside his father to cultivate crops and raise livestock.
Additionally, Reshon is an avid hiker and skilled nature photographer. He is a talented and leading member of the school’s African Drumming Group and has been drumming “his whole life.”
