The US National Hurricane Center (US NHC) says an area of low pressure could form in the central portion of the Tropical Atlantic in a few days.
The NHC in its 8 am update said thereafter, environmental conditions appear generally favourable for some slow development of this system this weekend into early next week as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.
The disturbance has a zero per cent (low) formation chance through 48 hours and a 20 per cent (low) formation chance through 7 days.
