Newtown Road Fatality Under Police Investigation

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is currently investigating a tragic traffic incident that resulted in the untimely passing of James Morton of Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, St. Kitts.

The incident took place on June 18th, 2024, on George Street in Newtown, St. Kitts. Initial investigations suggest that Mr Morton was struck by a vehicle while he was on George Street. He was then taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with severe head injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on June 19th, 2024.

At the scene of the accident, the driver of the vehicle involved was apprehended by law enforcement and is currently cooperating with authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
