Curtis Morton
It was a brief but significant ceremony and it was held at the ET Willet Park on Wednesday 2nd May.
On that afternoon regional umpire Carl Tuckett presented some impressive looking jerseys (tops) to the members of the Nevis umpires’ Association.
Tuckett in his remarks noted that it was just his way of saying thanks to his fellow local umpires for all of their support throughout the years as he continues to make his way up the ranking for the umpires in the region.
He noted that he had just planned to give the umpires the jerseys but Secretary of the Association, Mr. Oscar ASTRO Browne insisted that it must be done publicly.
Browne in his remarks thanked Mr. Tuckett for the fine gesture and wished him well in his future endeavours.
President of the Nevis Umpires’ Association Mr. Vincent Weekes also gave brief remarks and pledged his Association’s fullest support to Mr. Tuckett and wished him well in his aim to make it to the elite list of umpires.
Each member of the Association then received two tops from Mr. Tuckett and expressed their gratitude for the gift.
