Cricket Chief on Nevis, Denrick Liburd, has indicated that his Association is looking at a tentative date of Tuesday 28th January, as a possible date for the annual general meeting. He indicated that due notification of the meeting will be given shortly.
In giving a update as regards teams representing Nevis last year, he noted that the under 15 team was a very young team and only managed to play one match due to rainy conditions and lost that match versus a combined team of Montserrat and St. Maarten. However, Jevon Manners and Carlton Pluck, were the stand out players.
He pointed to the fact that the under 17 team totally dominated the Leewards under 17 tournament, returning unbeaten in all of their matches and highlighted the players who excelled.
He was also very pleased with the overall performance of the senior team in the Leewards competition, even though they did not manage to win and stated that he received no reports from the management team of untoward behaviour by the players.
He indicated that the plans are for the local cricket season to commence in Nevis in February, starting with a T20 tournament, followed by a franchise tournament; followed by the second division and first division tournaments.
He is generally pleased with the showing of his Association over the term under review and noted that most of the upcoming tournaments, already have sponsors in place.
