First Vice-President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Netball Association and manager of the newly released St. Kitts- Nevis Netball team, set to compete in the upcoming ECCB international Netball tournament, Allister Thompson, is adamant that the St. Kitts –Nevis team, will win games in the tournament this year.
He noted that last year, during the tournament, held in Dominica, the SKN team did not win a single game but pointed to the fact that this year’s team is much fitter and more match-ready.
‘Last year we went to Dominica to PARTICIPATE, but this year we are going to Antigua to COMPETE,’ he stated confidently.
He expressed thanks to Trainer Masefield Nisbett for his intense training and fitness program, to get the girls ready for the tournament.
It all started with 28 ladies and the team has now been finalized and fine-tuned to 12.
Some dropped out due to the intensity of the training program and one or two were eliminated due to injury and attitude issues.
According to Thompson, the team will engage in a weekend camp in Nevis prior to departing for Antigua on the 28th of September.
The tournament will run from the 29th of September to the 8th of October and will feature nine teams.
