Ms. Caribbean Culture: Miss St. Maarten
Miss St. Maarten BRIA SORTON BIOGRAPHY
Hailing under the Zodiac sign of Taurus, a shinning diamond in this world of gems, filled with exuberance, warmth and compassion, and carries a brilliant, sparkling smile, are just a few words used to describe my heart of gold. I am 21 year old, Bria Safari Sorton. My humble beginnings started on April 27th 1993 and I’m a graduate of the St. Maarten Academy.
My hobbies are: swimming, cooking, and reading. I am also a perspective member of the Rotaract Club of St. Maarten. My passion for modeling has afforded me the pleasure of starting my own promotional modeling agency, where we do promo for different companies, fashion shows, photo-shoots etc. Apart from that I’m securing my education with a few extra mathematical classes and thinking of master plans. It’s healthy to dream and believe.
I the former Teen Carnival Queen 2009, 1st runner up in the Ms. District Pageant in 2010 and I now hold the coveted title Senior Carnival Queen 2014 affording me the honor of being called Miss St. Maarten.
My interest in pageantry go back to my roots, as a child I always met people who entered pageants before coupled with the fact that my mother is an awesome eveningwear designer! I always enjoyed watching her help them with various segments and design their gowns and costumes. My mother was and still is a world of inspiration to me. After I won in 2009 I applied my knowledge and skills I’ve learnt from her to the girls that I now chaperon.
I aspire to become a serious legislator with intent to meet the needs and challenges for our young people but also the less fortunate people in society.
I am motivated everyday to be the best I can be, always striving for better. I am proud to be invited to The miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant and I look forward to meeting the people of Nevis and getting to know their beautiful island.
